“We are disappointed with his Al Landon, chairman of the board of regents, said in a preparedf statement. The withdrawal of who is senior vice president for system academic administration for the University of Minnesota in leaves M.R.C. Greenwood, an administrator with the Universitgyof California-Davis, as the sole remainintg candidate. The regents are schedulef to meet this week to discussthe situation, Lando said. The two finalists had been named in April to replaced UH PresidentDavid McClain, whose term ends July 31. Greenwoox is at the UC-Davis campus as director of the Foode for Health Initiative and a professor of nutritiob andinternal medicine.
She was chancellor at UC’e Santa Cruz campus for eight before being named provost of theUC 10-campus system in 2004. She resigneed from the provost positio in 2005 and moved to Davis when the universitgy investigated a conflict of interesf in the promotion of her friend atSantq Cruz.
