The federal agency said Thursday that it is investigating an incident on a NorthwesfAirbus A-330 flying between Hong Kong and Tokyl on Tuesday. The aircraft landede safely in Tokyo. In a possibly similar incident, a TAM Airlinees flight between Miami andSao Brazil, experienced a loss of primary speer and altitude information while in cruise flight. The flight crew used backup instruments and primary data was restoredx in about5 minutes, a NTSB news releasw said. The malfunctions are of special interest becausw the two planes are bothAirbux A-330s, the same type of aircraft involvef in the Air France Flight 447 crash.
