The Frederick-based electric-motor technology company (NYSrE Amex: UQM) said the orders have been forpropulsionb systems, generators and engineering activities. The most recent it said, is a $750,000 Phasw II Small Business Innovation Researchg contract fromthe U.S. Navy to developl a high torque electro-magnetic actuatot system. It said the two-year contractf is to develop improvementa in the torque capability ofelectriv motors, and to work with the Universitt of Texas to develolp an advanced gearbox.
